Call for the protection of conscientious objectors from Türkiye at the UNHRC

30.09.2025 • During each session of the Human Rights Council there is a specific item related to the UPR. During this Council meeting there is the adoption by the Council of the outcome of the reviews of the Countries which participated in the last session of the UPR. Each country under review can accept recommendations or note them, meaning refusing to accept them.

03.10.2025 • «Connection e.V.», in partnership with WRI, participated in the interactive dialogue on Ukraine which took place at the conclusion of the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva and delivered a statement denouncing forced conscription in the Russian occupied territories in Ukraine and the lack of implementation of the right of Ukrainian conscientious objectors. In the statement there is a clear expression of solidarity for the people of Ukraine victim of the ongoing war of aggression, an urgent call to the Russian Federation to cease its war an an appeal to Member States to fully respect the human right to conscientious objection to military service.
