Worsening situation of Eritrean refugees to be the focus of major conference

High interest at a pre visit in Brussels

(29.09.2017) A major conference is taking place in Brussels on the 19th of October 2017, focusing on the plight of Eritrean refugees. The conference, entitled ‘Eritrea and the On-going Refugee Crisis in Europe,’ will address the changing approach on the part of European asylum authorities, governments and the European Commission towards Eritrean refugees and asylum seekers. These issues will be discussed in the context of the worsening human rights crisis in Eritrea as documented by the UN commission of inquiry and the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights is Eritrea. Ms. Sheila B. Keetharuth, the UN Special Rapporteur, will appear in the conference as a keynote speaker.

Munich Administrative Court rejects suit by U.S. AWOL soldier André Shepherd

Observers have impression of bias in asylum proceedings

(18.11.2016) The suit brought against the negative ruling in U.S. AWOL soldier André Shepherd's application for political asylum was rejected in the decision by the Administrative Court published yesterday. Two days ago the Administrative Court had reviewed the case in a five-hour hearing, taking into account a fundamental decision by the European Court of Justice.

(03.11.2016) On 16 November 2016, the Munich Administrative Court will be hearing the case of the request for asylum submitted in November 2008 by the 39-year-old AWOL U.S. soldier André Shepherd.

Pro Asyl, the conscientious objectors' network Connection e.V., the Bavarian Refugee Council, the German Peace Association (DFG-VK), Bavarian section, and the Munich American Peace Committee (MAPC) invite you to come to Munich for this.
