In May 2024, the European Parliament decided to reform the Common European Asylum System (CEAS). There are fears that this will lead to further dramatic cuts in the fundamental and human rights of refugees. In the evening, Hannah Sommer, an employee of the «Munich Refugee Council», will explain the planned changes and outline what this means in concrete terms for refugees.

SUBSIDIARY PROTECTION STATUS HAS BEEN GRANTED

In its ruling of June 4, 2025, the Administrative Court of Wiesbaden granted subsidiary protection status to a Russian conscript who had evaded conscription. Recognition as a refugee was not the subject of the decision.
